Development planning

Planning permission has been secured to demolish a group of semi-derelict buildings on a constrained backland site in Wembley and construct a mixed-use development. The development will provide much needed new housing and improved workspace.

Nissen Richards Studio, who led the project, has produced an innovative design that mitigates the difficult and relatively tough urban environment while optimising housing delivery. AZ Urban Studio advised the client on planning consideration during the preparation of the planning application. We prepared a comprehensive suite of planning documentation.

The site faced multiple planning constraints, including proximity to neighbouring properties, amenity and highways. Justification concerning the employment floorspace provision was of critical importance to the development.
