Campden Grove
Development planning
AZ Urban Studio has secured planning permission for the alteration and extension of a family house on Campden Grove, a quiet, well-preserved street in the heart of Kensington and within a conservation area.
The works are more substantial than they first appear: the rear garden is lowered by a full storey, with a double-height glazed opening to the rear. On a site of this sensitivity the case rested on careful justification. We prepared the planning statement and heritage assessment, and set out the argument that the lowered garden did not constitute basement development.
The project was led by Groves Natcheva Architects, whose elegant design carried the scheme. AZ Urban Studio acted as planning agent, through pre-app and application stage, and built the planning and heritage case that allowed a change of this scale to sit comfortably in a sensitive historic setting.
A great example of how AZ Urban Studio adds value to high-quality design in sensitive locations.
