Light on the Common, High Street Wimbledon

Development planning

AZ Urban Studio has assisted in securing planning permission to refurbish and extend a historic building located within a Conservation Area on Wimbledon High Street.

The comprehensive development includes the extension and refurbishment of the existing building. The development consists of a rear roof extension and the creation of a terrace. At ground and basement levels, the development includes the demolition of the existing single-storey rear extension and the construction of a new full-width conservatory, increasing the restaurant’s usable floor space.

The design was led by Groves Natchena Architects. AZ Urban Studio managed all planning aspects of the projects and acted as agent, leading negotiations with the Local Planning Authority. Planning permission was granted with no pre-commencement conditions. The building is now completed.
