AZ Urban Studio helped deliver a major mixed-use development on a prominent site in the heart of Southwark’s vibrant Bankside area. The development which is now complete includes 85 mixed tenure flats, 2,000 Sqm of B1 office floor space, retail and associated landscape and public realm improvements.

On behalf of our client, Union Street Limited, we secured a great planning permission to convert a series of unsightly small car parks and business centre into an attractive residential led mixed-use development, which optimises these tight sites, located directly against the railway running into London Bridge.

AZ Urban Studio guided the project through a relatively complex planning process including an appeal. The project represents good urban design, excellent architecture, and a valuable asset for our clients and the community.

Union Street Ltd subsequently sold the residential element of the project to Mount Anvil who delivered much-needed housing without amending the permission.  AZ Urban Studio was retained to assist with the delivery of the commercial element of the project at 100 Union.
